I hate these wing-nut cases.

Okay I get this e-mail from a person explaining how Barack Obama has ALWAYS been a liar because at school as a boy he used the name Barry.

REALLY?! How nuts are these idoits!

I get into an arguement over IM with this person that This is the most stupid arguement as to WHY I should not vote for Obama.

I tell these person that I myself have brothers who are known by both their first and middle names.

Family have always used their middle names while when they where at work or school they used their first names.

My cousin is known as MIMI because our nephew when he was younger could not say the girl's name.

I remember working at the place I left that one of their Political clients B**CH about the Barry.

What exactly is this Barry thing all about?

more popular form of his name. To me that's nothing. It is so stupid to use something like that from childhood.

Apparently, it's supposed to show that President Obama (by the way, always refer to him as such, it really tweaks these bumblebrains) was ashamed of the name Barack, or was an attempt to hide his true identity, or some other such nonsense. I suggest refusing to engage in discussing the point. Something along the lines of "Barry? That's all you got? You know that a certain other president went variously by 'Ronnie' or 'Dutch,' right?"

because my grandmother called him that the day he came home from the hospital. His real name is Richard. No one has ever called him Richard. He signs his name Butch. Using your friends logic he's been a liar since he was born since Butch is not his real name. That makes so much sense...

The repugs have nothing to run on. Obama took the economy away from them: Obama is always willing to tie the meltdown to boosh and his policies.
He took national security, Osama dead.
He took all their usual go to-s in an election cycle away.
Women voters are running from the repugs.

The only thing they can gripe about is his name and the color of his skin. It's going to be worse than' 08

when I was in school I disliked the spelling of my name and spelled it the more common way... years later I embraced the spelling of my name...

I have had a number of special people in my life who decided at some point they wanted to be called by their given name instead of a nickname...

a manfriend who grew up being called Randy (at age 30) wanted to be known by his given Randolph and all around started calling him that...

a daughter whom I named Elizabeth, but called Betsy when she was young, decided at age 24 she wanted to be known as Elizabeth, so we all started calling her Elizabeth...

my current partner's given name wasn't used by his family and when I met him 10 years ago (age 50) he decided he wanted to be called by his given name, so all around began calling him by his given name....

this is not unusual and happens often... people that are ignorant will find a reason, no matter how false or foolish, to dislike President Obama

10. My brother's name is Richard and he hasn't been called that for over 40 years

He has been called Buddy since he was a year old, but every teacher, job and what not called him Richard until he told them what to call him. It's not even his middle name...that doesn't mean he is lying, in fact if he was called Richard, none would know who the hell they were talking about. People are just stoopid!!!!!

Almost every person I know has a nickname. Many of them have more than one nickname ... including me! The strangest "nickname" I've ever encountered was my Uncle Chris ... whose real name was George. He didn't have a middle name. I have no freakin' clue how he ended up being known to everyone as "Chris". In fact, I didn't even find out that his name wasn't Chris until he died! By the way ... his oldest friends called him, "Spike" - LOL!
