Thank you President Obama ! This is one of the greatest things I have ever heard a President say. It sums up the difference between the parties, how we think vs. how they think. It is the idea that drives us toward IDEAS and wanting government to do some things to make lives better, whereas they think government "is the problem" and believe in "You're on your own."
The Republicans are SELFISH and dedicated to ME-ism. They do not believe we have a stake in each other nor the idea that if YOU do better, than I do better, and WE all do better. For them it is, "I have a stake in MYSELF and could care less about YOU. You're on your own."
We don't think government can or should do everything, but we believe government can and should do some things and should exist to advance programs and ideas that make society better. That is called dedication to PROGRESS. The Republicans are BANKRUPT of IDEAS.
And this is why they will ultimately LOSE the fight on healthcare. It is ALREADY starting to turn with more and more ACA success stories and more and more to come. They are invested in failure and ZERO IDEAS that will get everyone covered with DECENT care. They are the party of ZERO IDEAS and THE PAST.
Dems/Progressives need to seize this message. Americans want IDEAS and government to HELP and they want PROGRESS, especially the younger generations coming up. We WIN on the ISSUES of the day. The other side LOSES BIGTIME !!

Why did he sign the sequestration bill, the Monsanto Protection Act, extension of FISA, NDAA/indefinite detention, ACTA assaults on civil and digital rights, food stamp cuts, reversal of the STOCK Act, robosigning immunity, gutting of Dodd-Frank regulations on the big banks...
We certainly do have a problem with politicians who do not perceive a stake in our success. We have a systemic problem of corporate money in politics, driving policy toward the interests of the predatory One Percent. That problem of corporate money and power infests both parties.
