General Discussion

Over the past week, I've seen 3 OP's cite research from places like the witherspoon institute to attack pornography. What people are failing to realize these places are organizations that want to outlaw abortion and homosexuality as well as porn. The studies that do and sponsor are incredibly biased and would be laughed out of any serious academic discussion. I am really sick of seeing them cited on DU by probably well meaning people.
A perfect example of this is this entire website, which I have seen posted several times over the past few days

Seriously, do the slightest bit of research into sources before you post them on DU. As a gay man, I am disgusted that this is happening and we should be collectively embarrassed for allowing this to go.

That's science and its' fact. Otherwise this is like arguing with AGW deniers.

I realize that might be a PITA, but it would be a public service to DU.
If I know who is posting links to right wing websites, it helps me to evaluate their judgment and trustworthiness in relation to one topic or another.

edit to note - I read the other sources/studies and they are all either derived from the Witherspoon work or do not, in fact, support the OP's contention.
