My wife and were dead too dead tired to cook after a rough short week at work, and with no relatives in the Bay Area, it made to sense to cook a feast for just the three of us. So, we took the cable car to Fisherman's Wharf, wished the public employees of the San Francisco Metropolitan Transportation Authority a Happy Thanksgiving and ate seafood at a local owned and operated restaurant. Afterword, we left as generous a tip for the girl (yes, girl. She looked like she was still in high school) as we could. No shopping today of course, Just a nice meal and quiet time at home. Happy Thanksgiving!!!

(32,060 posts)I really don't like making Turkey so my husband picked up a pre-made meal yesterday. We heated it up today (he helped - I was actually the one watching more of the football!). It was actually very tasty and we have great left-overs for the remainder of the long weekend.

(38,613 posts)Heck, the meat-slicer probably makes more than I do. It can be done. Local is the way to go!
For me, I stopped at the Civic Center farmer's market yesterday, and have plenty of ingredients for a thankful dinner.

(47,479 posts)Spouse does not like turkey. Had too many turkey sandwiches for school lunch after Thanksgiving.
And it makes no sense to have a feast just for the two of us.
So.... there is a nice restaurant that servers regular menu in addition to the Thanksgiving one and we've enjoyed it for several years now.
Except, some years back we visited L.A. and went to... the Stinking Rose, where everything there, including the ice cream has garlic in it. Was actually tasty.

(546 posts)At the Whiteaker Head Start Center. It is a true community meal and has been held for a long time. They serve a huge number of people and give away clothing and sleeping bags to the homeless folks that come to it. Always rendezvous with friends there and have a great time.
