Woman Killed Reportedly For Not Being Mad Enough About Alabama Loss

In what's being described as perhaps the most incredible finish in the history of college football, the top-ranked Crimson Tide fell to the Tigers after a missed field goal was returned more than 100 yards for a touchdown with no time remaining. Attending a party for the football game, the Shepherd sisters joked that a loss by the reigning NBA champion Miami Heat would have been worse.

That reportedly enraged Briskey.

"She said we weren't real Alabama fans because it didn't bother us that they lost. And then she started shooting," the victim's sister, Nekesa Shepherd, told the Associated Press.

Not likely that we will have to play Bama this year although it is a possibility for the Orange Bowl, I hear.

People are crazy. Poor woman and now this other one has ruined her own life too. I hate guns.

Updyke, you will recall, poisoned the iconic oak trees at Toomer's Corner in Auburn after Auburn came from way behind to beat 'Bama a couple of years ago. He then proceeded to brag about it on a popular statewide sports radio show.

But at least he only killed trees!

When your whole life is based around the performance of 18-22 year olds, things get out hand when they lose. bammers are already the most unrealistic fanbase in the country and this incident just plays to that stereotype.

This woman has destroyed another person's life (and the dead person's family) and ruined her own. Guns suck.

The Alabama coach was not prepared for what was effectively a punt return. This may rethink the whole approach to last second very long field goal tries in tied games (or to end 1st halfs). No way he had the staff out there to stop the setup for a punt return. Auburn was playing for the return the whole way - good coaching.

My comments were more along the lines of so called "adults" (sometimes me included - to a point) that take football way too seriously here in the South and then shit like this happens (kill their friends), or fans go and kill beloved landmarks at their rival (a la updyke and the Toomers Oaks).

AU is going to be in good hands as long as they can keep Gus on the sidelines. Remember, this was a "rebuilding" year by any stretch of the imagination. Luckily, Coach Chizik didn't leave the cupboards bare with talent (he just couldn't coach that talent).

so I will live with the thought that gun-nuttery, according to statistics, should thin the herd eventually. Just going to be a long haul and more tragedy.
