(3,891 posts)We just put it up last night. We decorated it with cat toys. Mylar balls, catnip mice, whiffle golf balls, kick pillows and all that sort of thing. The cats so far are pretty freaked out by a tree that just appeared inside. But today sometime, I expect them to be exploring and attacking the tree like they did last year. Only this time I won't be shouting at them to stop knocking things off of it. No more dashing for the vacuum to get the glass up before one of them is cut, or eats it.
I admit I surrendered, but you can't expect a cat to be anything but a cat. Shiny things, must be killed. Dangling things, must die. Twinkling things, must be slaughtered. Trees must be climbed to get to the goodies up higher, they can't be allowed to live just because they are up where they can't be reached.
