WorldNetDaily Ties Pope Francis To The KGB

Earlier this week, WorldNetDaily argued that Pope Francis’ criticism of capitalism is making Jesus Christ “weep in heaven.” Now, the conservative outlet is trying to use the new pope’s social justice teachings to tie him to the KGB. Of course, social justice has been a core teaching of the Roman Catholic Church — among other Christian denominations — since long before Francis became pope. In a column entitled “Communism and the Pope,” WND’s Ileana Johnson Paugh writes that she “traces Francis’ thinking to KGB-influence in S. America” and argues that social justice is not connected to the teachings of Jesus Christ but actually a “Soviet communist-led idea” that helped the KGB “infiltrate” the Catholic Church.
