Canada's Boreal Forest Cut Into Matchsticks to allow for Tar Sands

Processes to proceed.

This is what we are doing to the Earth Our Mother. At a time when I get dirty looks for driving a somewhat over-sized van, as I have no other way to get any where, and no money to buy a Prius, our political leaders, from both sides of the aisle, are bought off an d paid for by the industry that is doing this to the Forests that our oxygen-depleted planet so desperately needs.

And while our Mainstream "News" Agencies were busy showing us the President pardoning the WH turkeys, he was more or less secretly approving a new pipeline to help the Tar Sands industry.

and that forest would actually, if left standing, do a great deal to cut our emissions. Boreal forest soaks up more carbon than it produces. It is stupid, wasteful, and destructive.

Our Conservative Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, is the worst PM we've ever had. Ever. He's a destructive and vicious man, with white supremacist links in his past and no empathy. I want him OUT, but we'll have to wait until 2015 to even try.

I spent the summer of 1972 in CA, and have such fond memories of the forests up there. As well as the friendliness of Canadians. And the medical situation was awesome.

I find it hard to believe that a nation that had Pierre Trudeau now has this Harper guy in power. Fingers crossed that you can get rid of him. I never thought we'd get rid of Nixon, but it happened. he was forced out with two more years in office on his clock. But sometimes the corrupt are their own undoing.
