I had never even HEARD of Thomas Thistlewood before, and was struck dumb by his INHUMANITY...

and the pride he took in it; that he would record it for posterity's sake. The fucking inconceivably inhumane way he treated those he considered to be his PROPERTY disqualified him from consideration as a "person" and made him a sick, diseased animal in MY way of thinking, simple as it is.

Now consider if you will, Bashir's words. His exact words: "...If anyone truly qualified for a dose of discipline from Thomas Thistlewood, then she would be the outstanding candidate."

I don't care who you think is stupid, or how stupid you think they are. I don't care who you hate, or how much you hate them. I don't care why you hate whoever it is you hate. If you believe for ONE FUCKING SECOND that anyone "truly qualifies" for the kind of treatment Thomas Thistlewood subjected his "property" to, as Bashir stated HE does, then I don't stand with you.

If you wish to disagree with his words as I have quoted them, skip to 2:33

Mandela was black and fought for the civil rights of blacks. Republicans are racist and they will obviously be irked by Mandela. That's why their main thread has a picture of a champaigne bottle being popped.

These same folks get fired up over things like the knockout game. They will defend the killing of unarmed black children.

If they could go back to the days of slavery and Jim Crow in the US, they would.

You know that.

in the context of what I wrote.

"I don't care who you think is stupid, or how stupid you think they are. I don't care who you hate, or how much you hate them. I don't care why you hate whoever it is you hate." I think that's a pretty clear indication that I believe there are lines. Lines I would not cross, and I stated as much. There are things I wouldn't say about anyone, even you.

Every day we sink further and further from the surface of civility. No one seems to care. Every day we push the barriers between left and right farther and farther apart. No one seems to care. Some day the divide will be such that it will be impossible to bridge. You seem to cheer that. I'm afraid I don't understand your motivation. I never have. I guess I never will. Honestly, I'm not sure I want to. I vote how I vote out of a sense of hope. You seem to stand behind a barrier built of some kind of revenge and outright hatred.

I don't believe all republicans are racists. I'm at a loss to find their "main thread". Do republicans really have a "main thread"? I think that's a pretty silly notion when you really, seriously think about it. Don't you? Frankly, I don't know what the freepers are doing. I don't spend my time peeping through a keyhole at them. Seems YOU do though. You looked through their keyhole and saw them popping a bottle of champagne? ALL the republicans? Gathered in one place? Come on now... really?

If you feel for some reason that's an indication I'm not who I say who I am, please come out and say it and stop dancing around the bush. TELL DU I didn't vote for who I said I voted for. Tell DU you know it. Don't be shy.

As for President Mandela... I'm a better man simply having known his history. Would that the world had a MILLION men and women with his fortitude. A MILLION. That's ALL it would take, out of the BILLIONS. He was offered conditional freedom. He refused. If the world had a MILLION men AND/OR women like President Mandela, today, tomorrow would have hope unimaginable.

when you point out their obvious racism. Are all Republicans racist? Yes they are to various degrees. It's just a matter of how up front they are about it. Race is central to their worldview. It's what defines them. It's what influences their way of thinking and someone like Mandela angers them.

I used to post on a sports message board that no longer exists and boy was I ever good at pulling the racism out of them. I can't even tell you how many GOPers I got kicked off of there. I claimed countless scalps. They utterly despised me and I welcomed their hatred. Oh yes I did.

I'm very aggressive when it comes to confronting GOPers. I'm unrelenting.

Thankfully the GOP is a dying party. It's hilarious how blacks, hispanics and asians fled the GOP in the last election. With America's changing demographics, they will be relegated to permanent minority status. This makes me smile like a Cheshire Cat.

Remember what Oprah said recently about how many older racists are dying off? This angered the GOPers of course. Faux Newz went ballistic. Funny thing though, she's right. America is changing politically and demographically. This spells doom for those racists. The same folks who despised Mandela.

Martin Bashir said something really awful - it isn't justified just because it was said about Sarah Palin. There needs to be some kind of reaction to it. Just because Rush Limbaugh says more awful things, doesn't mean Bashir should go free, it means that Limbaugh should go down faster and harder. That isn't happening, but all the defense Bashir is getting on this site just shows how misogynistic this site is. It's just another offshoot of the Steubenville mentality of defending "our own" regardless of what they have done, because they are "our own".

What he was saying: "It's completely fucking absurd to compare the Affordable Care Act to slavery. If you're stupid enough to do that maybe you should have some idea of what slavery was actually like."

diminishes how thoroughly vile and dehumanizing that practice was. You are absolutely right. It is indefensible.

that Americans do not speak or understand English very well at all, much to his demise. Ms. Palin does not get how paying a tax bill today and slavery back then are very different things. Her mistake is much larger, but she will get to continue to make it. This is also true in part because Americans do not speak or understand English very well at all...
