They're running a series of commercials featuring a (gasp!) stay-at-home dad who (OMG!) stays at home to raise his child while (blasphemy!) his WIFE goes out to earn the family's daily bread.
Examples of this deviant anti-Christian behavior:
I think I need me a nice big bottle of Tide and some Downy. You?

(154,021 posts)I already use tide.
I need to get more though. Cute commercials though.
Why I use it? It kept grimy EMS uniforms clean, and trust me, a few of those stains were nasty.

he explains that his wife is at work while he "stays at home being awesome." If that's what works for them, great.

(27,310 posts)Now I have to go buy Tide because fundies don't like men who clean!
He's a dad-mom? Not a just a dad? Indeed. Because a man who does "women's work" must also be a mom.
So, I guess his wife must be a mom-dad because she is working and work is for dads.
What generation is this?
So cool that he can fold dresses! It is indeed a difficult skill that, when a man can learn grasp it, it should be highlighted in a nationwide ad. I am looking forward to seeing more of these new fangled men who can clean toilets, do dishes, wash windows, and vacuum the floor.
That would be so revolutionary!

(80,708 posts)The idea that gay families or SAHDs are something odd or exotic, I think, flew out the window at least a decade ago.
I'm not going to rip on the commercial, but it does strike me as provincial or dated.

(80,708 posts)buys his detergent from Costco. Kirkland brand is just as good as Tide and probably half the price per oz.
