I used to think that John K. Galbraith had
explained Republicans pretty well:
"The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness."
but I don't think that includes the current crop of right wingers. They aren't searching for justification. To these self centered assholes, their selfishness is its own reward.
They are insulted if YOU are not as selfish as they are.
The best explanation I can think of is my Thanksgiving dinner.
We didn't have Thanksgiving dinner - but Sunday we went to a local eatery for a meal.
I had the turkey and dressing.
Big mistake
the corn bread was good, but it was hard to find the corn bread dressing under the shards of turkey and "gravy".
I put that last word in quotes, because it was more like library paste slathered all over everything.
But the shards of turkey were dry - and this is my point.
It was so dry that it sucked all the moisture out of everything else on the plate - and it was STILL dry!
So I covered it with cranberry sauce - and it sucked all the liquid out of that - and it was STILL dry!
It LOOKED like turkey, but in reality it was a black hole of dryness!
This right wing is like a black hole of selfishness. Though they find their justification for existing in their own selfishness, they aren't satisfied until everybody around them is as selfish as they are.
That is why Stuart Varney and Rushbo can't stand the Pope.
