I don't care how many pairs of sweat pants you wear, when it's 20 below outside you ain't going to sit on your porch.

You can't wear eyeglasses because the metal frame will burn the skin off the bridge of your nose.

Last year I gave up metal frames for plastic...much better. Now I just have to arrange my scarf over my nose an mouth so it doesn't send my breath up toward the glasses so they fog over when I'm outside (or before the car warms up) as well as when I go inside.

too cold even for me to spend much more than a cigarette outside. it's mostly because my fingers get cold, i'm bundle up in long johns, fleece jammie pants, knee socks, long sleeved fleece shirt and put on a hoodie, bathrobe, hat, scarf, three pairs of gloves and a parka to go outside right now.

and the dog tells me she doesn't need one last trip out before bed.

Not that she can't handle the quick trip; she's got enough hair to insulate 3 dogs. Still, she looked, and declined.

I spent most of the day planting bulbs in the yard in 20 degree temps with winds up to 40 mph here in Oregon. Yeah, sipping a bit of port on the porch was nice afterward.
