I know that's not what you're getting at, DonViejo. This particular "joke" has popped up a few times before on DU and it always carries the same assumption, that since the president is engaging in something civil or progressive, that must make him "Worst. Muslim. Ever."

I know, it's supposed to be throwing the assumptions of the right-wing batshits back into their face, but what it really does is further their framing of people as inherently awful because of their religion.

7. Religion in of itself is not awful

so the awful can only be blamed on the PEOPLE that interpret and carry out awful things in the name of their religion. So yeah, people are awful, and people fueled by religion are the worst of awful.
