This video should be widely distributed. There are millions of male slaves working like this. And very few people seem to discuss this.

Workers complain that in the heat and aridity of the job site, they only urinate once a day, in the morning before they go to work. They don't have adequate hydration, among other things, on the job.

The bosses don't care. They never do.

2. Too few government inspectors (think Republican wet dream)

no minimum wage, no unions, ok labor laws (but with almost no enforcement)... and you get this.

Having lived there for a decade..., most of the info. you see here is relatively old. Improvement were made in the last 5 years or so... especially when it comes to housing.

Having said that, it still pretty much sucks for many workers.

I met with many Indian and Pakistani musicians who lived in Sonapur (one of the main worker's areas in DXB) and went there many times.

3. I was just chatting with a FB friend from Dubai.

He says it has always been that way and still is and the video is from March of 2013 so I don't think the info is old or outdated.

4. The contracting system there is Byzantine... for workers it's like a craps shoot...

some are legitimate and decent... others are doubleplus shitty...

I am so glad to be out of that place...
