Don't go on vacation without extending unemployment benefits - Petition

Campaign created by Rep. Keith Ellison with Credo:

Don't ring in the holidays by turning your backs on over two million struggling jobseekers. Before leaving Washington for the holiday break, take urgent action to extend the expiring federal Emergency Unemployment Insurance program and prevent long-term unemployed Americans from losing benefits three days after Christmas.
Why is this important?

Three days after Christmas, the federal Emergency Unemployment Insurance program is set to expire, leaving more than two million Americans who are unemployed entirely without unemployment benefits. This program provides millions with a vital lifeline as they seek work in an economy that has yet to fully recover.

But instead of taking urgent action to help provide relief for unemployed Americans and their families, House GOP leaders are preparing to adjourn the House and head home for the holidays this Friday. If Congress fails to act quickly, millions of families will be faced with difficult choices like deciding between paying bills or buying food.

I know it's a long shot and I don't post petitions often, but I had to try.

Please sign if you can.

Thank you!
