Five-year-old Claire Koch was born to two deaf parents, and American Sign Language was her first language. So while 60 of her peers used generic hand motions, Claire chose to use ASL, much to her parents surprise.
If Mandela could have chosen the interpreter I am sure that he would have chosen Claire.
It is going super viral, just saw it on CNN.
Claire's surprise for her parents (she did it all on her own!) is about to make her famous.
In a world of crazy there is always the sweet love of a child to show us the way to peace.
And that is the true and enduring message of Christmas.

(25,816 posts)I heard that ASL was an effective way to help communicate with Down's kids. I bought a book and she and I were able to learn some together. A beautiful child, like her mother.
