LionsTigersRedwings, Welcome

You must be from, and really love Detroit. I'm hoping so much that Detroit comes out of its depression and returns to the glory she once had. I think most Americans and Michiganders wish the same thing.

I saw your nick in another thread and was happy to see you here, full of pride in what's good in Detroit, along with a lot of the people there...

I live in MI, but farther north....

I am horrified & appalled at what this once great state has become. I am ashamed. I will continue to fight to turn it around.

But left the state after graduating from MSU and have been gone for many years. My husband was military and then worked in private industry so there were many moves to many different places. Unfortunately none that took us back to MI. Even though I lived longer in New England than I ever did in Michigan, I still think of Michigan as home.

My heart breaks when I see the decay in Detroit and the way that city has been treated. I choose to remember the city as it was when I was growing up. A beautiful, proud city. Hopefully one day Detroit will come back.
