"The winning numbers for the $626 million Mega Millions jackpot are 8, 20, 14, 17, 39 and Mega ball 7, lottery officials said.

Mega Millions estimates the jackpot is the second-largest in North America."

However, if the ticket I had gotten last time was good for this draw, I would have gotten 4 numbers and the mega.

winning numbers far more often than family birthdays (which are low numbers often) and such.

people would win. And the amount of money would still be a huge windfall for each of them.

I just can't believe that a $626 million win is in the realm of reality for any individual.

But, I could wrap my head around $20 million. Heck even something like "626 people win $1 million each" is closer to my reality.

The tickets are not required to be unique.

It is estimated that around 70% of all permutations were bought this time, so there is a 30% chance of no winner. But the possibility of multiple winners is not precluded.
