(4,748 posts)I guess what really gets me is the way we Americans can shrug off such horrendous acts with hardly a hesitation.

(62,325 posts)argue with them about crimes being committed by our government, weddings being bombed etc. And at that time most Democrats were outraged by what was being done in our names. Which gave me hope that at least half the country did not dismiss the crimes.
But lately, it seems a sort of apathy has taken hold of the once vibrant, anti-war left which makes me feel hopeless now that we can ever stop these crimes.

(4,748 posts)that can not seem to be controlled. Drone murders, Wall Street run amok, Gitmo still open, NSA spying, fracking, corporate money buying candidates and policy, Nuclear radiation, oil spills and general rampant greed paired with growing poverty.

So much hope, back in 2007. But we have moved forward since then.
