1. I don't care for Sullivan because he was an Iraq war cheerleader, praising Cheney

while accusing those opposed to the invasion of being treasonous. Also when he claimed to have 'leaned better' he continued to aggressively foist his opinions as if he had not been so murderously and callously wrong. Andy loves Andy.
This piece is typically contradictory, Sully points out that AandE altered the content, cut religion and suggested profanity but he also claims the family as it really is was what AandE supported. Fact is none of this had been known by the public and when it was known, action was taken. 'We edited out all the religion because it is a show about religious people'? Clearly the family and A&E collaborated on an image to sell, contractually agreed to that image and when that image was sullied (no pun intended) they took contractually allowed actions.
Sullivan said he was 'comforted' that Cheney was in the WH after 9-11. Why would such a person be liked on DU at all?

having this ignorant redneck get his own show in the first place, then turning around and acting all shocked that he was an ignorant redneck in real life.

4. Would there be sin in the world if God had made a second man out of Adam's rib - Adam and Ed?

This is a fascinating glimpse into the fundamentalist mind. You’ll notice that, for the fundamentalist, all sin – when it comes down to it - starts with sex. This sexual obsession, as the Pope has rightly diagnosed it, is a mark of neurotic fundamentalism in Islam and Judaism as well as Christianity. And if all sin is rooted in sex, then the homosexual becomes the most depraved and evil individual in the cosmos. So you get this classic statement about sin: “Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there.”

Both Adam and Ed could have had a cloaca and the sexes could be symmetric so that both could bear young. It shouldn't have been a hard problem for an Intelligent Designer to combine the reproductive and intestinal tracts in a cloaca, since egg-laying mammals have them.

To be clear, *I* wish to be counted as one here who will never, ever like him. Others have already posted my reasons, above. I will add that I have barely read his stuff, and therefore have not studied him to the extent I have Tweety and LIMBOsevic, such that I can retain a degree of puzzlement about his motives. No studying is needed for me with O'LOOFAH and HANNITY since the Catholic psyche is totally known to me: The guilt, the judging, the Crusade-mongering, the verbal/emotional abuse (and some GOOD things, too!1) .

I don't know whether SULLIVAN is a born Catholic or a convert, but in addition to his Shrub-CHEENEE worship, I would add the Catholic angle into why he sides with oppressors. Is it a power-worship thing?
