being a model of all that's fair and "sane", right?

Since I do, I believe, have more first hand experience of your country than you do mine,

I think it's only fair to mention some less than "evolved" aspects of your country.

Whereas our founding fathers wisely established a Separation of Church and State at our very inception,

You are still encumbered with a "national religion", The Church of England.

Whereas our constitution, from it's outset, saw the "lunacy" of inherited privilege and

titled nobility, you have an expensive, but not terribly bright royal family.

In addition, of course, you possess that odious class consciousness your fellow Brit, anthropologist Kate Fox,

claims your country has yet to cast off.

Most impressive of all, perhaps, is your elegant "chav culture".

In the UK the penalty of for distributing is 14 years max. That wouldn't be imposed for a routine amount : would be imposed only for whoesale / bigtime offence possibly related to trafficing.

On a 14 sentence year eligibilty for early release is at about 8 years - maybe even earlier.

Our "national religion" is an historic issue and should be taken in that context. Given that you actually killed your own history, aka your native population, I do realise that you probably can't relate much to historic events.

Shouldn't that be "we"?

Seing as how the early settlers of the nation which became the USA were English.

You moved west long after the first settlements.

I obviously didn't mean that whathehell did so personally nor you come to that.

(God knows whom the Celts had displaced),
the Danes took the northern part from the Angles & Saxons,
the Normans (Danes retreaded as Frenchmen) took over the southern part…

About those native populations…

The Romans conquered the Celts and drove them into Ireland. They left 600 years later.

bigotry, in characterizing our entire nation as "lunacy" because of one relatively recent issue which is now under review.

Your national religion is not simply an "historic issue", it's a present reality and please don't make me laugh

at a pathetic self-righteousness that dismisses all the crimes committed by YOUR empire when you had one.

Beyond its crimes against Ireland, India, Colonial America, China, and others, your history, as well as every

other European's is FILLED with murder of the "native populations"...it's a simple matter of how far one

goes back. Whether one considers the Picts, the Anglo-Saxons, the Romanized Brits, the Romanzed

the Protestants under "Bloody Mary" or the Catholics under "Good Queen Bess", I think most would agree that Britain

did a fine job of murdering its own inhabitants.

"I do realise that you probably can't relate much to historic events"?.....No, you actually don't "realise" squat

because apart from my nationality, you do not, in fact, KNOW anything about me, so I'm afraid that's just a bigoted

ASSUMPTION on your part.

As it happens, I'm actually quite fond of history, and am well-versed in that of both your country

and mine, along with those of the countries from which my ancestors emigrated.

You know, shortly after I posted that last response, I realized

that this was probably your meaning, so I apologize for sounding

the ridiculous disparity in sentencing regarding crack and "regular" cocaine. I'm sure the pot sentences

will be next.

Having said that, I believe the rich kid set free was a judge's verdict, whereas the jury of Casey Anthony

found that the prosecution did not meet it's burden of proof and neither she nor her family are at all "rich".
