Please sign this Change.org petition in support of the gay teacher forced to resign!

The kids who are supporting Mark Zmuda, the Sammamish WA teacher forced to resign his job at Eastlake Catholic High School are prtitioning the Archdiocese to change the rule that says a teacher may not marry his/her gay partner. It's been so inspring in the past 24 hours to see this little protest go from a student body, to a coalition of student bodies and a protest at the Archdiocese office in Seattle, attended by the new Mayor-elec, to mention on Buzzfeed and other sites and now this petition.

The kids are leading the way. This generation thinks this kind of thing is utterly ridiculous, and they're letting their voices be heard. I'm proud of them. Please show your support.

And as for Change.org, yeah, you'll probably get emails, but you can opt out.

Not blaming the victim here, but WHY did he go public?

He forgot the First Rule of Teaching: "NEVER tell the Administration ANYthing."

You know what I'm aghast at. All he wanted was to really be married like anybody else and they should change that rule.

6. The church has changed many times. But whether they do or not he did what he believed in

and that is worth more than a single job, IMO. And it caused a bunch of people to line up behind the idea of change.

4. thank you for posting the petition nolabear. I heard the mayor of Seattle showed up to

today's protests in Sammamish. I don't know if the teacher will get to stay or not, but the citizens of Sammamish are making one hell of a statement.

7. Actually the protest the Mayor-elect attended was in Seattle. It's gotten to be a general protest.

I fear the timing will keep the news cycle damped down but it has been heartwarming and I think the petition is a good one.
