Meet the Planet-Murdering Sociopaths Bankrolling Climate Denial
Sociologist maps the conservative foundations and think-tanks dropping ungodly amounts of money to push climate denial and let their Earth-murdering oil company buddies run wild
Drexel University environmental sociologist Robert J. Brulle, PhD, just completed the first ever peer-reviewed analysis of the sources of funding for climate denialism. Brulle was able to identify the massive foundations that bankroll the “countermovement”—the largest ones being Donors Trust, Scaife Affiliated, the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation and (no surprise—though they’ve scaled back donations in recent years) the Koch Brothers.
He also discovered that a massive amount—a total of 75%—of contributions are so-called “dark money,” meaning that it passes through foundations that keep contributors’ identities completely anonymous and their contributions untraceable, like the aforementioned Donors Trust. Guilt and shame much? Or did they just freak out after seeing “The East”?
