(39,909 posts)If he is NOT helping (and he isn't),
then he is part of the problem.
He PROVED he knows how to use the Bully Pulpit during the campaign for a NEW War in Syria.
I would rather see him using this power of the Pulpit to help the Working Class, like Bernie Sanders!

Stupid shit, bit that's how my brain works.
From the not using dumb humor to mask my fears, concerns, and suspicions side; I see a need to drag the DLC/third way/republicans lite as far left as we can. I see a need to get the damn money out of elections. I see a need to break the monopolies up.

(62,325 posts)But thanks for posting it again, it can't be said often enough.
And hopefully more and more people will look at who is funding candidates from now on before voting for them.
Corporate Donations to candidates for political office should become poison to their chances of being elected now that we know who is controlling them.

(31,849 posts)and, make no mistake, the National Association of Trial Lawyers of America and National Association of Realtors are just as corporate as Koch Industries.

(31,849 posts)Plain and simple ... all politicians, on the national stage, take corporate money.

(31,849 posts)the person I was responding to said "corporate funding is poisonous" or words to that effect ... I was pointing out that ALL elected officials on the nation stage accept corporate funding. So, by using that as disqualifying criteria, wouldn't that leave a very short list of folks to vote for?
rhett o rick
(55,981 posts)honest than others. Your post seemed to dismiss corruption as a criteria.
1StrongBlackMan
(31,849 posts)my post dismisses the "receives corporate money" as a criteria for qualifying candidates.
In the absence a public campaign financing, I am far more concerned with how an incumbent votes (and how a candidate says he/she will vote) than where his/her money comes from.
rhett o rick
(55,981 posts)before voting. I would agree with that, wouldnt you?

(31,849 posts)seeing the candidates' votes, regardless of who he/she accepts money from.

(2,737 posts)rethink that statement. I'd like to choose my "Corporate" sponsored politician, and his/her sponsor thank you very much.
1StrongBlackMan
(31,849 posts)where have I sought to dictate your choice of "corporate sponsored politician"?

Since then I've many others that share that belief. It was one of those "ah ha" moments that helped me to understand just how submissive they are.
