others have pointed out that maybe I'm being overly sensitive. But it does rub me the wrong way because I think some people leave off the "President" on purpose. Of course, I never called Bush Pres. Bush or even Bush -- he's Dumbya to me.

Presidents are always asked how they prefer to be mentioned when they first take office-- that's how we got "Ike" and "JFK". Perhaps Obama said he's good with just Obama.

The more I think about it, admittedly not all that much, it does sound a bit off in this context.

it's disturbing. He should be given the respect his office deserves. A subtle racism maybe.
