Alan Dershowitz is a major-league asshole

Just sayin'

It has been painful to watch the looooong ongoing process, since he used to be a major civil libertarian. (circa late-1970s)

Now on TV flogging the "it isn't civil disobedience if you don't turn yourself in" line... the true mark of the modern authoritarian dimwit.

(If the difference (sic) between being a criminal and being engaged in civil disobedience is that you go to jail in both cases, it is an odd sort of distinction to obsess over. What is really in play is people trying to square their youthful support of dissent with their contemporary state of being an asshole... which requires a lot of fancy footwork.)

Dershowitz is always contemptuous of anybody to his left...was so even when he identified as a "liberal". Protesters are braver than he is, and he hides his cowardice by dissing them.

I remember his support of "torture warrants" in the post 9/11, pre-Iraq War period.

Smerconish was in for Matthews.

Dershowitz kept interrupting the other (more supportive of Snowden's disclosures) guest (can't recall his name),
just like a typical rightwing LOSER habitually does.

I did not realize the extent of Dershowitz's "assholeness".

I now know----It is considerable.

He clearly had no familiarity with the evidence in the appeals trial that resulted in an innocent verdict, but that didn't stop him from opining as to her guilt.
