(4,742 posts)They were calling it "champagne" before the law was passed; they also have to put "California" prominently on the label. Unqualified, "Champagne" legally may only come from the red bits:

(20,277 posts)If I'm going to have champagne, I would rather spend more and get real champagne. Or a good sparkling wine from Italy. It isn't as if I drink it that often.

There are a lot of Gallo products on the wine list: when did they get unionized? The website also claims MacDonald's is unionized (along with DU favorites Chik-Fil-A and Cracker Barrel).
Great Western Champagne is still around? I haven't had that since my wedding in 1974.
