Rocket scientist and world-renowned unparalleled genius Kirk Cameron just ask him, he will agree challenged Stephen Hawking in an interview with TMZ regarding the answers to life, the universe, and everything.
Professor Hawking is heralded as the genius of Britain, said Cameron, Yet he believes in the scientific impossibility that nothing created everything and that life sprang from non-life.
While even a five-year-old has some glimmer of a clue how chemicals come together to create amino acids, Cameron seems to have missed that lesson, however Cameron continued, (Hawking) says he knows there is no Heaven. John Lennon wasnt sure. He said to pretend theres no Heaven. Thats easy if you try. Then he said he hoped that someday we would join him.

Besides implying there is another Universe besides the one we are living in, how did God come into existence?

(12,778 posts)I've often wondered about Hawking's theories. Since most of us aren't nearly as intelligent as Hawking and don't understand most of his theories anyway, how do we know that he's right about a lot of stuff? How do we even know that he doesn't just make shit up sometimes?

(38,613 posts)You don't just have people making claims and everyone believing them. It's all about peer review, testability, predictability, and falsifiability. Nothing is considered true (or close to the truth) just because someone said so.

(40,416 posts)And there are physicists who follow and understand his work. If his theories did not work it would be exposed. There have been notable examples when he was wrong. Such is the world of science.
There are many examples where his theories hold up. For instance, one of his big ones, Hawking Radiation which predicts that black holes must eventually evaporate via quantum virtual particle pair generation near a black hole's Schwarzchild radius.
The guy is pretty amazing given that he's been nearly totally paralyzed with motor neuron disease for decades and cannot even talk.

(40,416 posts)I took undergrad quantum theory for my physics BS and a little mathematical physics at the grad level. Never went beyond that. My big mistake. It's pretty wild stuff.
Too bad many people use that wildness to argue that science supports their woo ideas.

(7,670 posts)You seem to have imposed these limits, on yourself. You can educate yourself to better understand what Stephen Hawking is talking about, if you wish. That's how science works, because if Stephen Hawkings is making shit up, he will get caught by others, whether its you, or someone else, its called peer review.

(12,530 posts)...then how can we expect science to explain how the universe popped up with the earth at its center almost 6000 years ago? Also, I've always felt that God works through former child stars to explain science, so there's that.

While Kirk Cameron seeks to educate us in evolution and life, the universe, and everything, we here at AATTP thought we would take a minute from side-splitting laughter to appreciate other crazy famous Christians have said. Long on belief and short on fact, there seems to be a trend where anything goes, as long as you can wrap it up in a homely homily and tie it up with a big Jesus bow. Enjoy some of our favorite quotes ...
Chuck Norris, bemoaning the spread of Atheism online, said, While you think your kids are innocently surfing the Web, secular progressives are intentionally preying on their innocence and naïveté. Whats preposterous is that atheists are now advertising and soliciting on websites particularly created for teens. Thats right, folks, Atheists everywhere are stalking your children! Theres a fight over the hearts and minds of your kids! As opposed to Christians desire to merely mate with them while they are still young. Jut ask Phil Robertson. ...
Stephen Baldwin shows us his parenting skills with the following statement, Jesus or no Jesus, if my daughter started working in a strip club, Id beat her ass. We find ourselves wondering what he would do if his daughter started batting for Team Lesbian. Baldwin also used the bully pulpit on Big Brother UK to preach about evolution. Watch here while Richard Dawkins hands Baldwin a steaming pile of shutthehellup.
Kirk Cameron has a novel way to eat or is this food snorting? Were not sure. We just think its kinda weird. Put your nose into the Bible everyday. It is your spiritual food. And then share it. Shared food snorts. Ew. We wonder what other snorts he shares with his friends. It IS Hollywood, after all.

Significantly fewer Republicans believe in evolution now than in 2009, according to a Pew Research Survey released Monday.
In 2009, 54 percent of Republicans believed that humans had evolved over time, but a survey conducted in March and April 2013 found that just 43 percent now thought so. The percentage of Democrats who believe that humans evolved over time was relatively unchanged between the two surveys: 64 percent said so in 2009, and 67 percent in 2013.
Several prominent Republicans have questioned the theory of evolution and claimed that it is controversial among scientists. Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R), during a failed presidential run, said that evolution was "a theory that's out there" and has "some gaps in it." Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) contended that "hundreds and hundreds" of scientists with Nobel Prizes believe in intelligent design. However, Mitt Romney, the GOP's 2012 presidential nominee, said that he believes in evolution.
Overall, the Pew survey found that 60 percent of Americans think humans and other living things evolved, while 33 percent think humans and other living things have "existed in their present form since the beginning of time."
