It's lovely. The words are right...we can't forget the old year. But I for one hope for a better one coming up. The old one will be there with its memories and losses. The song brought tears tonight.

(88,117 posts)The loss of her hubby is so very recent. She's having a hard time. I am 7 months from my loss now, and the time element does matter.

(62,325 posts)Your first New Year's Eve after such a loss is very difficult. I am glad I checked DU tonight if only to say I understand that kind of loss and it takes a long time, but it does get better although it's hard to believe that so early afterwards.

I think I'm going to go crawl in the bed. I can't hang with the New Years crowd like I could when I was much younger.
