(5,330 posts)5. I'm not so sure how unlikely the debtors' prisons scenario is.
I hear they've been making a come-back, mainly with homeless transients who get sent to jail for some minor charge, charged fines to pay for their jail stay like many lock-ups are doing these days, released, only to be re-arrested some time later for failure to pay those fines.
It's like we're reverting back to the early 1800's or something.
