It would be like asking a sponsor of the Fugitive Slave Act, "Why do you think slaves want to be free," and him responding, "You know, I've never even thought about that."

To watch him - his face - his discomfort only makes me ill. This is a visual I will have on those who think they can make decisions about women's reproductive rights.
This will only end when women refuse sex with people who believe this way (even if these people can articulate it)

is that there are enough women who go along with that attitude who are having sex with men who also go along with that attitude.

The no-sex boycott would only be really effective (IMO) if we could change the minds of women who fall for that shit.

Imagine what would happen if every woman in the US said "piss off" to the clueless men with Medieval attitudes.

I don't know if I like the idea of using sex as reward or punishment, but hell...sometimes extreme measures are necessary.

"why do you think women want to have...
...
"I never thought about it"

Then freeze it right there and ask "Why would you vote for someone who has never thought about your interests. Well I have..."

People just write their opponents campaign for them sometimes...

I met both of them a few times through my job. My wife was a bartender at the Greenville Country Club back then.

Those two were as thick as thieves and the local pols didn't miss a chance to kiss his ass.

They were both boorish, crass, loudmouth, rude, drunk assholes each time I saw them. The staff couldn't stand them but since Buchy was a big shot in a small town he treated everyone that he thought was beneath him like shit.

You would think that they would treat the people that served them their food and drink better.

Or the people providing security. They were afraid of everything even back then.

Couldn't stand them then, can't stand them now.

Men's Health Bill

In March of 2012, Turner introduced a bill to regulate men's reproductive health. Under her proposed S.B. 307, before getting a prescription for erectile dysfunction drugs, a man would have to get a notarized affidavit signed by a recent sexual partner affirming his impotency, consult with a sex therapist, and receive a cardiac stress test. She stated that the proposed statute would be parallel to recent legislation written by male legislators restricting women's reproductive health, and that she was equally concerned about men’s reproductive health.

“Even the FDA recommends that doctors make sure that assessments are taken that target the nature of the symptoms, whether it’s physical or psychological,” Turner said. “I certainly want to stand up for men’s health and take this seriously and legislate it the same way mostly men say they want to legislate a woman’s womb.”

one man said, 'it all started when Betty Friedan burned her bra.'

It takes a lot of restraint not to pull out an uzi and blast men when they have the audacity to speak about women. Truly. I would not presume for men. Dirt bags feel free to speak about us though. One man did say that marrying his wife was the greatest thing he ever did. Not a total loss.

because the dumb old bastard preacher at the wingnut church they go to has dismissed it all as "convenience."

Yeah, not facing death is mere convenience.

Multiply this old fool by millions and you realize why the abortion fight is never going to be over. Nor will the contraception fight. Nor will the fight to hang onto the vote. Nor will any of the other fights we've had in this country to gain our rights.
