91, died September 9 in Fort Lee?
Oh man...Governor....if I have the right woman, you just lost the Tony Soprano vote. My family's Sicilian....this will resonate in NYC/NJ.
Here's the story on the bridge closure...and EMS delays

Edited to add...I haven't posted the name because I'm not 100 percent certain, and because the family hasn't come out publicly. But...I think I'm right.

I wonder how Christie will balance his Presidential campaign schedule with dispositions?

(297,180 posts)due to deliberate closing of the GWB and brings light on the endangering recklessness of the act.
"Emergency responders also were late in getting to a third medical emergency that first morning of the lane closures. It took Favia nearly an hour to arrive at a building where a person was experiencing chest pains due to standstill traffic on Route 46 East. The Mutual Aid ambulance coming from Palisades Park and paramedics coming out of Leonia were also delayed due to the excessive traffic, he wrote."
I can imagine how pissed these hard working EMT workers are.. and everyone affected by the revenge closing.

Or maybe he did but thought he'd never get caught. Which is worse?
This is an unbelievable story - holy blankety blanks. What an evil man!
People have to realize that even though they may not agree with everything the President does, HE WOULD NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS!
I'm just floored. oboy.

That Bridget Anne Kelly, Deputy Chief of Christie's Staff, is an especially demonic piece of work.

(27,509 posts)It has an embedded google map with an overlay showing how the traffic flow was changed:
Access blocked
From Sept. 9-12, 2013, local access to the George Washington Bridge toll plaza from Fort Lee was changed from three lanes to one lane. This caused extensive traffic problems in Fort Lee that lasted until noon. How the traffic flow was changed:

(4,840 posts)from a Christie Presidency? Political payback on the states and cities that don't support your election? People dying needlessly?
This woman is dead because of the political culture Christie brought with him into office.
A person is dead because of political shenanigans. Christie should step down.

(30,099 posts)beyond what most civilized people would be able to dismiss..even the most cynical regarding
politics. Christie did not even need to play heavy handed to win, the only demographic he
lost was the youth vote.
This venture which involves the closing of lanes on the GWB is also displaced as it would not
and did not impact the mayor, personally. It was implemented it appears at the very citizens who they
believed were his opponents voters in the race.
Altering the flow of traffic to inflict harm, and harm befell one woman, fatally. The disregard
is astonishing....what else is he capable of doing? Those who voted for him need to come to
terms with that reality.

(8,554 posts)Florence Genova died the day Christie and his cronies went after the mayor of Ft. Lee.
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/10/nyregion/woman-says-lane-closings-were-not-to-blame-for-her-mothers-death.html?_r=0
The daughter of a 91-year-old woman from Fort Lee, N.J., who died on the day of a major traffic jam precipitated by top aides to Gov. Chris Christie said on Thursday that she did not believe the inability of an ambulance to reach her mothers house was a factor in her death.
I honestly believe it was just her time, said Vilma Oleri, whose mother, Florence Genova, died on the morning of Sept. 9, the first day that the closing of local lanes leading to the George Washington Bridge set off the snarls.

If there's a relationship that can be established between someone losing their life due this act of retribution, I don't think it's a stretch of the imagination to see those people being held personally accountable for their actions and the state for empowering their seemingly petty crimes.
