This feels like the polar opposite of the IRS 'scandal'

Obama—who we know really knew nothing about the thing, which itself was not a substansial scandal—never claimed to know the truth of the matter, did not attribute the whole thing to partisan dirty tricks, and threw people under the bus pre-emptively and grossly overstated the seriousness of the problem.

Christie's initial reaction was to say he knew the whole truth of the bridge thing, circle the wagons, belittle and bully folks curious about it and embrace the insulting, implausible 'traffic study' line like it was gospel.

Which is odd for someone who knows nothing about anything.

Imagine if Obama's reaction—not knowing anything about whatever had gone on beyond a phone call from a crony at IRS saying there was nothing there—had been to joke that he personally had been going through the applications, circling which ones to reject. (Like Christie joking about how he was the one putting out the orange cones.)

Of course, anything the Dems did or were said to have done was bad, worse, worst.
