Just SEE them, and just read the link

I know that there are some that are going to post "But I am more worried about human poverty/ illness/ the homeless..."

I am too- however, this isn't the thread for that.

I know there are some here that will write "bacon is tasty!" Great- when you have visited a factory farm, and see what you are eating, I'll be more than happy to listen to you, or read what you write.

"This is a vegan thread!"

No. It's not.

"I hunt for my food." Good, I have more respect for you than I do the people who only see the packaged product.

I am pretty much going to ignore the above scenario posters that are going to post on this thread. I have addressed you already.

As Canadian photojournalist Jo-Anne McArthur tells us, it is “the bulk of the animals we are closest to every day” who are actually the ones that “remain invisible.”

but, once I wrote "I am not interested in the "who cares about animals with all the human poverty stories" on this thread- and told the hunters that I respect them- and said this is not a "vegan thread,"

Crickets.

Absolute crickets.

Unless it's "controversial," it doesn't fly here, does it.

I know, that sounds so cliche.

But it has to be said when some respond, "I worry more about people" ... as if we can't be concerned for all sentient beings.

but, they won't bother on this thread. I don't think the vast majority of people care enough about farm animals. although I do think the word is starting to get out-

If humans can't treat animals well how can we be expected to treat each other well.

But in previous jobs I worked processing (butchering) and I've seen the inside of the slaughter houses. Yes bacon was tasty but after seeing what I've seen I won't touch pork and I've cut my meat consumption down to maybe twice a week

at the slaughtering plant in Amarillo, TX in the eighties.

It's disgusting. Beyond disgusting, and yet Americans keep making jokes about "tasty bacon." Yeah- the ones that have never been to a plant, which is most of them.

But, it's more than that- it makes us a nasty country to treat animals that way.

... which means there is still so much more suffering animals will have to endure until we reach universal HUMANE ways.

I highly recommend it. I avoided it for years and now regret not reading it much sooner.
