17. Am I Reading It Wrong?

I'm not sure that's what she's texting about in the photo, since the article says the photo was taken at 7 pm and that the messages stopped at 5:30, till picked up at 6 something in the am.

"The next morning at 6:41 a.m., Kelly picked up the conversation and said she was on her way into work and that she would speak with Wildstein."


But I still think it's damning as hell that she was communicating about it on that day, and likely at some point while right next to him.

I'm in NJ, and obviously loathe Christie. I'm crossing my fingers that more and more comes out and that he's directly implicated. I know how short voters memories are, and I'm scared that by the time 2016 comes around, this will only have a smidgen of an impact on him. He's the biggest threat to Hillary that I see, and he doesn't even come close to deserving to be. But if something comes out that directly contradicts him, I'm pretty sure you can then put a fork in him. So here's to hoping!!!

And on a side note, why hasn't more been said in the media about him saying in the press conference that he lost 2 nights sleep over it but only found out the previous morning? And I just signed up, so forgive me if this has been asked or discussed in length here. I'm just really surprised I haven't heard more reaction to that. As soon as he said it I thought it was a total gotcha moment.

22. To Be Fair

We don't have the exact time this photo was taken and we don't have a complete list of activity Kelly performed on her smart phone during this period. All we have is knowledge she was actively involved with GWB issues that day. That, however, does not detract from the fact that Christie and Kelly worked closely together on issues and they Christie did not lift a finger to learn how this could have gone so wrong. Sure, Christie claims that he called all of his people in and asked them what they knew but they all professed ignorance and Christie wasn't apparently interested in finding out how such a screw up could have come about. If I was in Christie's shoes and my people told me they had no knowledge I would have shot back "why didn't you know" so that just doesn't pass the smell test. Email also show that there was intense interest in getting this tamped down by a number of close Christie staff so things were definitely not happening in a vacuum.
