New Jersey Gov. Christie's (R) office apparently thinks "left-wing blogs" are to blame for the competing theories about who and what was behind the decision to close lanes on the George Washington Bridge in September.
In a short statement to CNN on Tuesday, Christie spokesman Colin Reed blasted the theories, including those that posit the closures, which tied up traffic for days in Fort Lee, N.J., were to get revenge on rivals or possibly linked to a local real estate development.
"We're not commenting on every wild-eyed conspiracy theory that's originating on left-wing blogs," Reed told the cable news network.
One of the theories that has been floated by New Jersey Democrats is that the shutdown was revenge against a local mayor who declined to endorse Christie's re-election. Another, first raised by MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, is that it was retaliation against a local senator who blocked the governor's court nominees. A third, raised by MSNBC host Steve Kornacki and former Jersey political reporter Brian Murphy, is that the closures may have been somehow tied to a nearby real estate development.

Yeah, "left-wing blogs" forced his office to commit crimes. Guess Christie is getting that cocky feeling back after his damage-control speech: http://www.democraticunderground.com/10024331570

There's been a mystery about just who David Wildstein was texting with in those now infamous texts where he says "I feel badly about the kids ... I guess" and the mystery person replies "They are the children of Buono voters." Well, it was Bridget Kelly.
Ryan Lizza I believe incontrovertibly proves that here.

Here's the evidence for Bridget Kelly being the person on the other end of these infamous Wildstein texts:

What remains unclear to me is this: just how did a seemingly real time screen capture end up in this document dump? Unless I'm not thinking this through properly (a real possibility) there's no way that image, with battery and connectivity meters showing, comes into being unless you screen cap it at the time or soon after it happens. Since it identifies Kelly as the counter-texter, the phone is clearly Wildstein's and also certainly he made the screen cap. But why?

(171,064 posts)The r/w blogs would rather treat this like it never happened, and might be. I don't care.
We're shouting 'Benghazi'!
And it's not just the left wing, it's any serious written news source and/or organization or blog, as well as TV. If we're all so wrong, whatcha worried about?

(2,419 posts)I guess Mike Drewniak has gone silent on this! If somebody burps in NJ and the Christie administration thinks its against the party line he's got a statement out in 30 seconds with an obnoxious tone. The guy's got something to say about everything but this. Where are you Mike? Hello? Is there anybody out there?

Relationships between the media, Christies staff and the Port Authority were on display in the documents, many of which revealed discussions about how the transit agency should handle questions about the closures from The Wall Street Journal, The Record (N.J.) and other publications.
In one instance in October, Christie spokesman Michael Drewniak responded to questions from Star-Ledger reporter Steve Strunsky. Then, switching to his Gmail account, Drewniak forwarded the exchange to Wildstein.
Such a f mutt, Drewniak wrote. See below
Wildstein, also using Gmail, then forwarded the exchange to Baroni.
The governor is not dismissing Drewniak in light of the latest release of documents, spokesman Colin Reed said. After deputy chief of staff Bridget Kelly was linked to the closures in Wednesdays emails, Christie said he had fired her for lying to him. Christie also distanced himself from former campaign manager Bill Stepien, whose name surfaced in the messages, saying he had lost confidence in his judgement.
