A representative from the finalist that lost the bid to create a Jersey Shore tourism ad campaign after Hurricane Sandy said that state officials asked about Gov. Chris Christie (R) starring in the ads, the Asbury Park Press reported Tuesday.
They stated an interest. They asked us about using the governor, Shannon Morris, president of Sigma Group of Oradell, told the Asbury Park Press.
Morris said that on March 15, right before oral presentations for the bids, New Jersey officials "inquired if we would be open to featuring the governor in the ads."
Some have speculated that New Jersey awarded the ad contract to ad firm MWW because it proposed using the governor in the ads. However, MWW officials on Monday said that they originally pitched a long list of New Jersey icons and decided to feature Christie after they failed to land bigger names.

(116,464 posts)While political observers say the bridge scandal isn't good for Christie, the Sandy investigation has the potential to be much more damaging to his national image since it was his signature achievement following the devastating storm.

...is key to the pattern of abuse and lies, but the media seems to be focusing on this because of Christie's "national image."
The bridge scandal is explosive, including using the Port Authority Police Department to exact political retribution.

(12,041 posts)There are probably others as well, but Springsteen is the first that springs to mind.
This could actually be an important point because if they really did seek celebrities some of these celebrities would remember being asked. Was Springsteen ever asked? If he was not asked then I have a hard time believing that they really approached other celebrities first. The big celebrities from New Jersey should be asked if they were ever approached about these commercials, if a celebrity can not be found who has been approached then it would be strong evidence that this ad agency is lying to cover up for Christie's corruption.
