Wonkette: Baby Pesticide, Army Rape, Wife Rape And Slavery: Meet VA Congressional Candidate

Dick Black

http://wonkette.com/539251

Have you met Dick Black? He is a state Senator in Virginia, and he is running for Congress in Loudon County, and he calls emergency birth control “baby pesticide,” which, we are pretty mad we didn’t think of that first, because “baby pesticide” is awesome. He has a few other awesome thoughts floating around that big old giant manbrain of his, great thoughts about slavery, and gays, and spousal rape and army rape. All the rape, really, plus Abraham Lincoln, but we repeat ourselves.

I read the Mother Jones article.

What a gem of a man this is.

He is an embarrassment to the military.

He is an embarrassment to his gender.

He is a dangerous threat to the female gender.

He disgusts me.

Honestly, he's just awful.

The Mother Jones article does an excellent job at delving into Dick Black's past.

http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2014/01/gop-congressional-candidate-richard-dick-black-spousal-rape-not-a-crime

Dick Black represents Loudoun County in the VA legislature. Loudoun is home also to Eugene Delgaudio, head of Public Advocate of the United States (anti-gay hate group), who just last week made news again for nominating anti-abortion activist Andrew Beacham to the Loudoun County Library Board. Beacham subsequently resigned after a public outcry.

A bit of deja vu here. The Mother Jones article correctly points out that Dick Black got his political start as a library board trustee in Loudoun. He used the library board to gain attention and advance his extreme agenda.

6. Women are still under attack in Virginia

I will do everything I can to defeat the rightwing loon agenda in my state, they are dangerous to women, they are the enemy, we have to stay mobilized and get the vote out and I will repeat myself over and over, I don't care who the dem is, if that person is running in my district, I will vote for them, the gop/teabag rule in Virginia has been a disaster for women. I might not like every dem running for office in Virginia but none of them are going to stick a vagina probe in my daughter, I don't know what the sick bastids on the right plan to do but this guy gives us a clue.

...television interview.

From MotherJones: And once, to demonstrate why libraries should block pornography on their computers, Black invited a TV reporter to film him using a library terminal to watch violent rape porn.

"And here we are, let me just...right up here, to my 'Favorites' folder, clicky click, and OH YES, here's some violent rape porn to watch! Be sure to get this on camera. No, no, aim the camera up a little higher, like...at my neckline. Be sure to get the monitor in the frame, I may want to watch this at home tonight before bed. Note to self, be sure to have the wife get a nightie on before the news tonight..."

Where the HELL do these people come from?

"Military rape is as predictable as human nature. Think of yourself at 25,wouldn't you love to have a group of 19 year old girls under your control?". He's a retired military prosecutor.

Black entered politics in the late 1990s after retiring as a military prosecutor. He spoke frequently to media outlets about sexual assault in the military, and called military rape "as predictable as human nature." "Think of yourself at 25," Black told a newspaper in 1996. "Wouldn't you love to have a group of 19-year-old girls under your control, day in, day out?"

From the Mother Jones article found in the OP article.

I note he's also buds with cucinelli; see Mother Jones article. he and cuccinnelli appear to share the "values" of hard-line misogynists.

In addition to being a raging, hate-filled, homophobe, of course.

Black was at his most virulent when targeting Virginia's same-sex couples. He championed legislation to ban same-sex couples from adopting children, claiming that gay men and women are more prone to violence, alcoholism, and suicide. When it became clear the bill would fail, according to a 2005 Washington Post article, he amended it to require adoption agents to investigate whether the prospective parents were "known to engage in current voluntary homosexual activity."

In 2003, Black tried to pass legislation preventing same-sex couples to apply for low-interest home loans from the Virginia Housing and Development Authority. The current policy, he explained, "subsidize(s) sodomy and adultery." Black even, in 2005, urged his constituents to picket a local high school that had staged a student's one-act play about a gay high school football player. Portraying same-sex relationships in "a cute or favorable light," he contended, put children at risk of contracting HIV. "If I'm the last person on the face of this Earth to vote against legalizing sodomy," Black once said, "I'll do it." {also from the Mother Jones article}

16. What's with the rape?

Why are all these sickos so into rape? Anti-choice and pro-rapers seem to be the flip side of the coin.

I don't want these disgusting creatures talking about women. I don't want to invite them in or convince them. Politicians don't need to be talking about rape or abortion! I want them to slink away and STFU.
