Stray bullets flying on a north Omaha street struck and killed a 5-year-old girl Wednesday morning as she ate breakfast inside her home.

Payton Benson was finishing breakfast when someone in a car fired a gun at another person running on 45th Street near Emmet Street, a relative said.

The shooting was reported about 9:45 a.m. Payton was unresponsive on the way to the hospital.

The article says her mother had just moved from Chicago... We here shots here every now & then & up at the bodega there is always a new jar doing a fundraiser for someone that has been hurt or died. I live in a relatively small town in SC now but grew up with this bullshit in Miami.

This shit just makes no damn sense.
