Anyone here get an email from Target offering free credit security watch for a year?

I got one today and am wondering if it's just another scam.

Haven't charged anything there for well over a year.

To "activate" the free credit protection program you need to input your SSN. Over the web.

Red flag to me.

Some years ago a company my spouse worked for had some data stolen. Also got free Experian but the application was hard copy and snail mail.

Don't reply to one asking for SSN.

5. Target has said that the way those

that stole the credit information will utilize it is through 'phishing' expeditions such as the e-mail you recieved delete it.
