Shunning as a method of political activism

I've been thinking about this for a long time. Especially now, that they are targeting protesters. It's kind of a form of boycotting and can include boycotting, of course, but what if we simply refused to deal with people like Rush Limbaugh and Nancy Grace? Refused to carry their groceries to their cars, refused to shampoo their hair, refused to shine their shoes, refused to wait on them in restaurants, etc.? And what if we did that to those that carry out executions? And our reps in government, when they voted against our interests?

1. Most people don't know who they are, plus they'd get fired.

Are you...drinking?

Money still talks, though. Organised boycotts. I think our old DU pal Limbaugh is pretty well subsidized...somehow.

6. Am I drinking? Is that your way of calling my idea stupid? I don't appreciate it.

What do you mean we don't know who they are? We have the internet. Not hard to find out anything about anyone. And, yes, not waiting on them, etc., might get someone fired, but there are other ways of shunning, too. And shaming.

8. No. It's the weekend, and your delivery is run-on, and "tipsy-ish", as a read

Most people don't know a lot of things, my friend. They really don't. Not politics, and as for a cable tv show, well most of us here did not know who the duck dynasty folks were.

I was smiling. I thought that would be a cue. I'm sorry for upsetting you. For hurting you. I should have been clearer.

I'm a teetotaler, though. Don't drink at all.

I'm just not good at writing, sometimes, I guess.

Boycotts are a great tradition. Look at the Montgomery Bus Boycott

In a way, that's the spirit of what you propose.

Lysistrata is also along similar lines. Strikes, etc. Usually they have to be large and organized to have impact.

3. Also...we never really know who carries out an actual execution

There are a number of people who THINK they might have done it. I forget how that works, an ex friend from Justice was there for the murderer in Oklahoma city bomber, as a witness.

No one really knows who trips off the chemical release.

Am I getting this right?

I know that there is a specially trained team in Texas. Doesn't matter who pushes the drug; they all are willing--that's why they're part of the team.

No television, no radio. Rush Limbaugh and Nancy Grace do not exist in my world. And my dogs and dragon probably wouldn't like them if they knocked on my door. In the unlikely event they were to make that journey.

11. Elton John actually got into hot water for NOT shunning Limbaugh

It just occurred to me...Uncle Elty could not turn down Limbaugh's luscious lump of lucre to perform at his wedding.

He was roundly admonished, and came up with a weak kind of defense.
