Sure, he want to run for president, but I never expected to go far and still don't. That's because the upper crust is waiting for Jeb! Bush to announce his candidacy.

(3,795 posts)Most politicians are corrupt, and they know others are corrupt too.
TPTB decide which ones fall to scandal and which ones don't. It's their media.
They will support the one(s) they want in both parties to get the result they want to get: someone they know will cater to their interests. Locking up candidates during the primaries from both parties that will serve their interests makes it so much easier for them and so much, much harder for most of us.

(44,576 posts)any more than Bush's, Bush II's, or McCain's did. With his cover blown, his future political ambitions sleep with the fishes. But the GOP's real problem with "Governor Soprano" is that he clearly wouldn't be controllable.

(19,564 posts)It would break his heart. He's been walking on sunshine since all this started coming out. He doesn't have a chance at gaining the nomination, let alone winning the presidency, but reality and Ryan aren't exactly on speaking terms.

(15,381 posts)Christie would have been toast in the debates because everyone else would gang up on him - not just because of his perceived front-runner status but for palling around with Obama and for not being hateful enough of 'teh gayz," since he signed into law a bill outlawing conversion therapy as well as didn't fight marriage equality becoming law in New Jersey.

(26,549 posts)What would Jeb's slogan be? "My brother's the dumb-ass. I'm the smart one!" Perhaps he could use "Let's pretend 2001-2008 didn't happen." Maybe "Pretend I don't have any children. Or at least pretend they didn't get in the news."
