I've never seen anything quite like it. It would be as if President Obama were before Darrell Issa's committee.

Stop the Seahawks then drive for a winning TD and they will have beat the twelfth and thirteenth man.

(5,719 posts)I don't know if you know it or not, but U.S. sports that are broadcast in Canada, even if we watch on a U.S. network, have the Canadian network (in this case, CTV) take over the U.S. network. We end up with the same crappy commercials over and over, or promos for network shows later in the evening or later in the week. That's what was on when they switched back to the 4th and 2 and we just got to see the tackle at the end.

(10,558 posts)I predicted prior to pre-season that the Broncos would face the Seahawks in the Super Bowl. Everyone I said this too back then said "Yeah....maybe".
At the start of the playoffs I told anyone who wanted to talk football with me that it was going to be Denver and Seattle in NY and still most everyone said "Yeah maybe". (One guy was a Chiefs fan and predicted it would be KC vs sooooomeone...meh, maybe Seattle."
New prediction" The Seahawks are gonna be showing off Super Bowl jewelry in 15 days. GO Hawks!

If you think about it Defense wins championships and Seattle has the best Defense.

By CNN Staff - Sun January 19, 2014
(CNN) -- The Seattle Seahawks defeated the San Francisco 49ers 23-17 Sunday in the NFC Championship Game at Seattle to advance to Super Bowl XLVIII against the Denver Broncos.
Russell Wilson completed 16 of 25 passes for 215 yards and one touchdown to lead the Seahawks to the win.
The Seahawks are aiming for their first Super Bowl title. They reached the final game in 2005 but lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Super Bowl will be played February 2 in New Jersey's MetLife Stadium, site of the first outdoor cold-weather Super Bowl. Game time is 6:30 p.m. ET.

(10,558 posts)Seattle took quite the bashing from San Fran's QB's rushing yards. If they had not figured out how to contain him better in the 2nd half that guy could have won the game with his legs.
Now don't get me wrong, I am in the camp of those who believe Peyton Manning to be one of the greatest QBs ever but... I think his legs may be a little too old to gain hundred plus yards rushing against the Seahawks. I predict the Hawks are going to win the Super Bowl.

(36,437 posts)Never before in his life has he missed a single wide-ope receiver as badly as he missed at least six or seven today. Dude's in it with the book in Southie.
No dog in this fight, but if it were to come out that Brady threw the game, nobody who watched his performance today would be much surprised. His overthrows were comical.
dreamnightwind
(4,775 posts)which makes overthrows that much easier. Saw about half of that game, and the question of Brady throwing it did enter my mind, probably the thin air is a better explanation, and sometimes players have off games. Manning was outstanding. I was for New England, sorry to see them lose.

WTH, NFL! The referees can deviate from the rulebook whenever they please? Hey, let's make one team work twice as hard. Call after call after call.
Too much for any team to overcome. 49ers forced into desperation and they cracked. Congrats to the 13th man. Seahawk 12th man not a factor.

(509 posts)when Seattle was less than a yard from scoring a TD was one of the all time great plays in the history of the game. Too bad the refs didnt see it. Too bad he got hurt for nothing.
lumberjack_jeff
(33,224 posts)It didn't matter though because if they had called it right SF would have taken over on the 1 yd line. As it was they took over on the 5.
That Lynch fumble was instant karma.
I hope the 49er player is able to return next year, but I suspect he won't.

(10,437 posts)questionable calls and plays. Unlike the Denver-NE game, where the best team clearly won the game. I can't really say that with the 49-Seatle game.
either way, the superbowl will be a a great game if you don't consider its being played in outdoor stadium in New Jersey...wtf its going to be cold sitting in those $1000 seats.
