Wendy Davis is now having her roles as wife and mother questioned.

I can't link to articles because I'm on the wrong device right now,but there is a faux brewing scandal concerning her divorce and when exactly it happened, was she 19 or 20,how long she lived in a trailer with her children and her divorce from her first husband and his custody of the kids. It has absolutely nothing to do with her political reputation and everything to do with whether or not her role as a wife and mother was up to snuff. Incredible.

She should have let it alone. She apologized for having the facts wrong which is never a good idea. Ignoring it would have been better. This election is very important and she needs to ignore all the crap that will come her way. This will be the most fierce battle of the election in 2014.

as a bad wife and mom which, knowing Texas, will probably work. My problem is that as a female politician, this is a "scandal" in the first place.

I agree with you btw about being a divorced single mother being used against her. As I said somewhere else, she needs to be very careful what she says. The other side will be well funded both at the campaign level and aided by outside groups.

Her campaign probably decided to get it out early so it's eventually old news as soon as possible.

Perhaps the appropriate male politician equivalent vetting is "Have you ever cheated on your wife or had lust in your heart?

"how long did you live in a trailer park"? This is a faux scandal that would never work against a male politician, ask Newt Gingrich.

Ask Weiner or Spitzer. Frankly this isn't a scandal at all. She made mistakes as a very young adult. As if everyone else hasn't made mistakes of some sort. At least she didn't run over a lover (looking at you, Laura Bush) or go AWOL in the national Guard (and you, W).

It would be what I expect of them.
I just sometimes why we we are disappointed when Teapublicans don't offer useful ideas or heaven forbid constructive solutions.
This type of thing is all they have.
Expecting better is a waist of time.

What's most interesting to me about this so-called 'story' is how many here are treating it like it is one.

Those anonymously quoted zingers about Ms. Davis' personality are a real low.

If they didn't, we wouldn't have Senator Obama and then President Obama. Ryan who was married to Jeri Ryan's divorce was used by Obama to win the Illinois Senate Seat. Be careful when you blanket things because it can change history.
