Arizona bill allows businesses to discriminate against unmarried women, non-Christians

Experts are warning that a bill making its way through the Arizona legislature would allow businesses to discriminate against LGBT people, unmarried women or even non-Christians.

Republican state Sen. Steve Yarbrough has said that he introduced Senate Bill 1062 because a “modest clarification” was needed in the state’s religious-freedom law, according to The Arizona Republic.

Among other things, the bill would expand those protected by the religious-freedom law for religious assemblies and institutions to “any individual, association, partnership, corporation, church, religious assembly or institution, estate, trust, foundation or other legal entity.”

The conservative advocacy group Center for Arizona Policy has been pushing the measure as a way to protect photographers and bakers from having to provide services for same-sex weddings, which are not even legal in Arizona.

This is just insane. Why would anyone have any problem with making a cake for a same sex marriage. I mean all they do is add two guys or two woman on the cake. I just don't get it. I mean they don't even "write" things on wedding cakes. Sheesh, make the cake and have the couple add the plastic couple on top of the cake. Conservatives are absolutely unreasonable and quite frankly a bit mental.

Such a law violates the basic premises of the US Constitution, and could not stand. Many bills are introduced. Few are passed. When reviewed by legal experts in Arizona, this one will not pass. If it did pass, it would be challenged in federal court and tossed almost instantly.

The U.S. Constitution trumps state laws when it comes to discriminatory issues.

primordial portion of their brain giving them irrational fears and an incredible resistance to alter their thought patterns. This is not hearsay, but documented in studies. Hence, in the face of all logic, they will continue their regressive and prejudicial patterns of behavior based on fear and flawed logic.
