Castle Rock city council passed 4-3 an abolishment of city ordinance that bans open carry guns in city buildings and offices. I assume that you can transport your weapon openly on your way to a city office which means you can probably open carry your gun on the street. If a city office includes the police department you can probably carry you gun into that office as well.
Eventually gun owners will want to open carry anywhere they want including businesses, schools, churches, etc. Might be a good idea to stay out of that city.

(18,402 posts)it would be a felony (it's a brand new law, forced on us by the courts, but I believe I read that it would be a felony to bring it into a government building, court, etc.). There are a SLEW of places prohibited by law, and anywhere else can post an official sign prohibiting guns (though I believe that would only be a misdemeanor offense, unfortunately, if it were disobeyed):
