The Republicans' field for 2016 is ... BWAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!

by Eclectablog

Oh, hardy har har har...

A recent fundraising email from GOP.com was disguised as a "help us pick our presidential candidate for 2016" poll. The list of candidates shows in vivid detail just how shallow their bench actually is.

Kelly Ayotte
Haley Barbour
John Bolton
Jeb Bush
Herman Cain
Ben Carson
Chris Christie
Ted Cruz
Mitch Daniels
Newt Gingrich
Nikki Haley
Mike Huckabee
Bobby Jindal
John Kasich
Peter King
Susana Martinez
Sarah Palin
Rand Paul
Ron Paul
Tim Pawlenty
Mike Pence
Rick Perry
Rob Portman
Condoleezza Rice
Marco Rubio
Paul Ryan
Brian Sandoval
Rick Santorum
Tim Scott
John Thune
Scott Walker
Allen West

It's an astonishing list. No Mitt Romney? How about Rick Scott? Ken Cuccinelli? Colin Powell?

And, really, Sarah Palin? Newt Gingrich? Ben Carson? John Bolton? These are legitimate enough to make this list? Hoo boy.

I can see now why they want to shorten the nomination process in 2016. They don't build a clown car that big.

There would be nothing greater for the GOP to run a batshit insane should-be war-criminal in a pathetic attempt to claim that they aren't racist because, look, he's black too!

that African Americans voted for Obama only because he is African American, and that they are stupid and don't consider what a candidate says or stands for, only the candidate's race. There are a lot of Republicans who think that Obama won only because he is African American, rather than admitting that he won despite facing discrimination.

I also certainly believe that they're being disingenuous in trying to buy Latino votes by pushing conservative Republicans like George P. Bush as a politician that can "relate" to Hispanics, just because his mother is Mexican. Sure, I have blond green-eyed kids that consider themselves Hispanic because my parents came to the US illegally from Mexico. But, I don't think for a minute that "Pee" Bush, who was born to millionaires, went to a preparatory school and an Ivy League university, can relate to us. But, I think that Republicans are cynical and stupid enough to believe it. I believe it's the reason they selected Sarah Palin for vice-president. Because they wanted a foil for Hillary Clinton to take away female votes from Democrats. It's just the way their minds work.

You just need one American parent to be a natural-born citizen, regardless of location of birth. But it would be interesting to see how Republicans wrap their heads around Cruz, since they claim Obama was born outside the U.S. and therefore can't be president — whereas his having an American mother makes him a citizen (and he was in fact born in Hawaii).

McCain was born in Panama (which was a U.S. territory).

We "ran" the canal zone for a while, but IIRC McCain was born outside the canal zone.

But that's really immaterial to your point: McCain's a natural-born citizen because his parents were.

Allen West?!?

Sarah Palin?!?

Haley Barbour and Herman Cain?

Scott Walker? He is currently the worst governor of the nation!

The Republicans is going to the hell out of themselves!

I can only say that John Thune is their single best candidate and his track record is more than enough for America to not vote for him
