(111,261 posts)and then the temperature pops back into the 50s. It's predicted to be 65 on Thursday and flowering trees are in bud a full month ahead of schedule.
The problem with this is that the entire southwest is bone dry. California will have to go into full crisis mode along with cities like Las Vegas and Phoenix. There is simply no water and little snowpack to replenish any of the reservoirs.
This year's El Nino is the strongest and warmest I've ever seen. That's why this winter is the driest. A few more like this, and we'll see reverse migration from southern California.

(39,961 posts)Ice, sleet, a few days that it never got above freezing, and we are about to start it again tomorrow. I'm a MILE from the Gulf of Mexico, and this is NOT normal here. On a side note, though, maybe we will actually get snow instead of the rain/sleet nasty mix. Snow is kind of soft and okay. The icy/sleety crap sucks.
