there have been allegations of corruption in olympic judging at least as far back as east german times.

judges are picked from all over the world, so i'm not sure the location in sochi has anything to do with it.

The thing is, the corruption has hit a new high level.
These "contractors" remind me of the Iraq/Afghan "contractors."

The main stadium cost three times what a similar-sized one would cost.

I know the Barbershop is a cliche but this really floored me. Political talk is rare when you hear it is usually right wing tea party crap in spite of the barber who liked Clinton (people had more money in the 90's. The comment was "Why would those damn Commies try tell us who we can send to the Olympics?" The follow up comment was "What adults do is their own business". I have got to say I was stunned. There was obvious support for the LGBT athletes going to the Sochi Olympics. Attitudes change slowly in my widest dreams I would not have imagined that conversation a few years ago.

It's a done deal at this point, isn't it? No one actually thinks we're going to back out at this point, do they?
