I was out and about yesterday. I took this picture at a local cemetery. It was overgrown, on a hillside. Looked like no one had been there in years. But check this out...this was a Colenel, died in 1905. And someone is still showing up to place a flag on his grave. I may be a hippie liberal, but I found this rather moving.

in Sunshine (Harlan county) both died in 1929. They had 14 children, 84 grandchildren and not sure of the count of of great grandchildren (I just know it's high).

Our family has a schedule of who takes care of what when. Most of the the still living relatives don't live in KY anymore. My schedule is in July and I am there every year to do my part. Some people may think it's silly because they died long before I was even born. But as you say, respect.
